Steps in Applying for Financial Aid
Instructions to complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA). Using the FAFSA on the Web is the quickest and easiest way to apply.
The steps in applying for aid using the online FAFSA:
1. The following information is needed to complete the online FAFSA.
• Driver’s License Number
• Student’s Social Security Number (and your parents Social Security Number if you are providing their information.)
• Completed Federal Tax returns and W-2’s (and the same forms if
you are providing your parents information).
• Any untaxed income. Examples: Social Security benefits, Veterans benefits and any type of temporary assistance for Needy
Families, unemployment, child support etc.
2. Now you are ready to apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
3. Make sure you enter all information necessary and submit your application. Our School Code for Choffin is 007473. The student must receive a confirmation
number. The confirmation number lets them know that their information was
submitted successfully.
4. The school will receive the results approximately ten days after submitting your application.
5. Always follow up on your FAFSA if you do not hear from them within three w
weeks by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov .
Classes under 600 hours are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
Classes between 600 and 900 hours are prorated for eligible students.
Classes 900 hours or more are considered full time classes.
In order to continue to receive financial aid, student must maintain
satisfactory progress and abide by the attendance policies according to
their programs.
*Because most Choffin programs are one year, all students are considered
first year students. The school reserves the right to limit the total loan
amount borrowed (including loans from other schools) to $10,000.
