Choffin Career and Technical Center's Rededication and Open House

Students and faculty in the 30+ career and technical education programs at
Choffin Career and Technical Center will celebrate the rededication of
Choffin with a ceremony and Open House on Sunday, October 19th from
2:00-4:00PM. The public is invited to tour the newly renovated building,
meet the teachers and staff, participate in hands on activities, and join
us for hors d' oeuvres. Special entertainment will also be provided by
Youngstown's own Rudy and The Professionals!

"We hope to have a crowd of interested community residents and students at
the Open House," said Joe Meranto director of Choffin. "We want them to
see the level of skills students gain here and how, working with people
from the business community, we're preparing young people and adults to be
productive workers and community leaders."

According to the Association for Career and Technical Education, research
shows that many of the country's fastest-growing occupations require the
technical skills taught in career tech education programs. Research also
shows that among high school graduates entering the workforce, those with a
technical education background earn more than those without this advantage.
