Admission Requirements: Completed application, pass pre-entrance examination. Students must have a high school diploma or GED. This course is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in the field of Phlebotomy. The program includes: Specimen Collection, Infection Control and Safety, Specimen Transport and Processing, Techniques of Venipuncture and Capillary Puncture. Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certification Examination with The American Society of PhlebotomyTechnicians (ASPT) approximately 30 days after course completion. It is recommended that the student meet our requirements for Hepatitis B vaccination and produce documentation of
PPD Two Step and Rubella Titer. Classroom and clinical time are required.
All courses are 88 hours and are held in Room 412. Course fee includes
accidental/liability insurance, text.
