Admission Requirements: High School diploma or GED, pre-entrance exam and interview are required. Choffin is one of three programs in the state of Ohio that has received National Accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Our state of the art dental clinic gives the student an opportunity to work hands-on directly with patient care. This comprehensive program includes work in; Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology and Disease Transmission, Pharmacology, Tooth Morphology/Oral Embryology and Histology, Radiology, Dental Materials, Lab Procedures, Chair side Materials and Procedures. The curriculum meets the Ohio State Dental Board Standards for a certificate in Radiographs. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Dental Assisting Examination. After obtaining the credential Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), the CDA is eligible to apply for a certificate in Coronal Polishing and Sealant Placement. This program has articulation with YSU Dental Hygiene Program for Radiology and Dental Materials; and Case Western Reserve school of Dentistry E.F.D.A. Program. Completion of the program will provide the opportunity to receive 20 semester hours of credit in Allied Health at YSU.

A Pre-entrance interview is also required before admission. Clinical externship hours vary.
